Today, the Java Joint is owned and operated by the Hernandez family, since 2002. With energetic and hard working attitude, this family has created a family atmosphere unlike no other coffee shop in town. “Our goal from the beginning was to create a unique atmosphere and menu that combined our Mexican-American cultures, by offering such favorites as, Java Joint’s original Chicken Salad Sandwiches and caramel bread putting, along side the traditional Torta sandwiches and flan custard of Mexico”, says Brenda Hernandez, Owner and General Manager.

The Java Joint enjoys the loyal patronage of many Bethany residents who have made this coffee shop their second home. Many people meet here everyday for business & personal meetings, bible studies, board & card games or to simply just catch up on their reading. This coffee shop is also a popular hangout for many local college students from Southern Nazarene University, Southwestern Christian University, OSU-OKC and Oklahoma City Community College. These students enjoy a warm atmosphere where they can study until late at night, while drinking their mocha lattes and eating good home cooking.
